Job description

The Territory Manager will be responsible for managing sales and community engagement activities in their assigned territory of South Western Ontario in the new recreational cannabis market. This is an exciting, fast-paced sales opportunity for the right self-starter who can build customer relationships, sell in a fact-based manner, is data and category driven, and has the ability to engage and influence the community. This role reports to the Provincial Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Selling and Influencing :
    • Manage all accounts in the territory and establish Canopy Growth as a preferred partner with customers.
    • Create brand awareness and community engagement within the territory.
    • Identify new distribution opportunities and build partnerships to maximize profitable share and volume through distribution, visibility, and service.
    • Execute marketing initiatives to foster consumer loyalty and sales.
    • Maintain up-to-date administration records and information.
    • Lead industry and brand education sessions with key stakeholders.
    • Achieve KPI targets related to volume, share, in-store condition, product placement, and compliance with outlet route plans and call frequency requirements.
  2. Relationship Management :
    • Build and maintain meaningful relationships supporting the annual operating plan.
    • Develop relationships with managers and staff at retail locations.
    • Identify opportunities to promote Canopy’s brands within regulatory confines.
  3. Planning / Self-Management :
    • Execute the annual territory plan and commitments.
    • Manage time effectively with weekly/monthly schedules.
    • Track sales and consumer budgets accurately and on time.
    • Manage budgets to drive volume and share growth, monitor expenses accordingly.
    • Generate new sales and event leads, and sponsorship opportunities.
    • Support community engagement, customer training, and sampling initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the Provincial Sales Manager on planning and goal-setting.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Curiosity about customer motivations and ability to translate into sales opportunities.
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets and maintaining KPI standards.
  • Experience in increasing brand awareness through innovative strategies.
  • Brand management experience is an asset.
  • Comfortable working in a data-driven, technological environment.
  • Experience in Beverage Alcohol or related industries is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in sales, account management, category management, or trade marketing.
  • Proven ability to work remotely and independently.
  • Experience conducting local media interviews is desirable.
