Overview

Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory, market segment, and/or supplier brand by effectively selling the company’s products/services and providing excellent customer service to fulfill the potential of our suppliers and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Make regular sales calls to off-premise customers to cultivate customer relations and satisfaction with the service provided.
  2. Analyze, plan, establish, and maintain an efficient and productive daily call pattern in assigned territory.
  3. Achieve assigned monthly quotas and placement objectives.
  4. Analyze the total territory and each account to determine priority selling, promotional, and merchandising opportunities.
  5. Implement and maintain up-to-date, accurate records of sales, competitive activity, and payment performances of all accounts in the assigned territory.
  6. Recognize major trends and directions, describe major trends associated with a specific market type, and discuss the organization's position and plans regarding key product trends.
  7. Install and maintain appropriate point-of-sale/printed materials within accounts that are clean and current.
  8. Participate in and assist with relevant trade shows and supplier-led marketing initiatives.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  1. Ensure order information is captured accurately, work with a specific sales system as part of current responsibilities, and conduct day-to-day sales order entry.
  2. Assist customers with inventory management responsibilities (product availability, new product placement, and stock rotation).
  3. Participate in sales projects, account evaluations, proposals, presentations, and other sales-related activities.
  4. Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and licensed producer tours to stay educated on company policies and industry trends/developments.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline preferred.
  2. Ability to maintain a valid and current driver’s license.
  3. Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  4. Goal-oriented, assertive individual who needs minimal supervision.
  5. Entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for creating and selling innovative ideas.
  6. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts.
  7. Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internally.
  8. Ability to travel as required.

Physical Demands

  1. Physical activities for extended periods include sitting and keyboarding using a computer or mobile device.
  2. Occasional activities include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  3. May occasionally require lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56 lbs.
