Job description

Territory Manager - Grocery and Convenience Stores, GTA (Toronto)

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annual company goals and objectives set for the retail channels within GTA.
  • Support Head Office sell-in relationships with regional grocers and C-store chains throughout the GTA.
  • Execute sales and marketing initiatives, enhancing brand awareness and in-store relationships.
  • Seek new opportunities to customize and increase brand exposure with price, promotion, and display.
  • Build seasonal and promotional displays at retail based on promotional calendar and HQ sell-in commitments.
  • Visit various retail stores within the given territory based on prescribed frequency guidelines; identify new distribution opportunities; build a partnership that maximizes profitable share and volume through distribution, visibility, and service.
  • Build, maintain, and provide as requested, call route plans, field notes, pictures, and competitive intel.
  • Manage budget as provided.
  • Review and analyze key sales data and comprehend sales representative reports to action regional opportunities.
  • Proactively use and maintain retail sales tools to inform and influence goals in-store.
  • Use every opportunity to build relationships with drinkers and key influencers that result in brand loyalty and repeat purchase.
  • Actively promote the ‘Good Beer Folks’ experience and corporate presence in the community.
  • Execute corporate and marketing initiatives and leverage them into consumer loyalty and beer sales.
  • Effectively manage the given territory, ensuring all administration records and information is current and up to date.
  • Attend and participate in various company sales and marketing meetings.
  • Maintain a full understanding of the products, history, and brand activity.
  • Ensure that behavior and dress reflect the appropriate Steam Whistle ‘Good Beer Folks’ image.
  • Understand and comply with the legal and regulatory regulations of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, Ontario.
  • Ensure that timely and accurate expense reports are submitted.

Skills and Experience:

  • Retail experience is an asset, along with the ability to manage your own time and increase sales.
  • Detail-oriented and fresh thinking.
  • Ability to generate account-based merchandising solutions.
  • Take initiatives in pursuing daily objectives.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Outgoing and personable with the ability to create strong relationships and quickly build rapport.
  • Produce monthly reporting and trade highlights.
  • Resourceful with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Valid Driver’s G Licence.
