Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to exceed sales targets for Sun Pharma Generics' diverse multiple molecule product line within a designated territory, driving profitability, fostering growth, and expanding account penetration. Operating in a highly competitive pharmaceutical landscape, the Territory Account Manager will be expected to deliver consistent results while adapting to shifting market dynamics. In addition to meeting and exceeding sales targets, the individual will maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the diverse product portfolio and competitive environment, positioning themselves as a trusted resource for targeted pharmacies and healthcare professionals across the territory.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve and exceed territory sales and profitability objectives in alignment with annual targets.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update a strategic business plan to maximize sales performance, with quarterly reviews, to adjust initiatives as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze competitive activity, industry trends, and market dynamics to proactively address territory opportunities and challenges.
  • Demonstrate agility in managing evolving market conditions, including product shortages, by maintaining a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Provide timely and insightful feedback to Sales and Marketing teams on competitor actions, customer sentiment, and evolving market conditions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all customer engagements within the assigned territory, representing the organization with professionalism and integrity.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and ongoing business relationships.
  • Manage account-level trade and operational spend with fiscal accountability, ensuring all expenditures align with budgetary guidelines.
  • Complete all administrative duties, reports, and CRM updates accurately and within prescribed timelines.
  • Represent the company at customer and industry events, conferences, and trade shows as required.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations at regional or national meetings, contributing to cross-functional alignment and goal setting.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to share insights and best practices that drive regional success.
  • Maintain compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), completing all required training and documentation.
  • Uphold ethical standards and industry regulations in all aspects of conduct.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits as needed.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Additional Responsibility (Only Applicable To Customer Facing Roles)

Report any complaints/adverse events received from customers to the Pharmacovigilance/ Drug Safety department within one business day.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a University Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Marketing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years retail sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry or competitive business to business retail sales.
  • Existing strong relationships with independent retail pharmacy owners and pharmacists in Eastern Ontario is required.
  • Willing to travel within assigned territory and to Regional and National Sales Meetings.
  • Holds a valid Canadian driver’s license in good standing.
  • Possesses strong B2B sales skills.
  • Proven track record of strong sales performance and sound business acumen.
  • Skilled in leveraging internal systems, conducting in-depth sales analysis, and developing strategic territory growth plans.
  • Demonstrates a results-oriented mindset with a strong drive to exceed targets.
  • Comfortable working independently while also thriving in collaborative, team-based environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
  • Effective communicator with strong listening, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Adaptable and flexible in dynamic market conditions.
  • Highly organized with strong time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Concur, and QLIK; CRM experience is an asset.
  • No relocation services will be provided and the successful candidate should reside within the Kingston to Ottawa area.
