What We Need

Mohawk is looking for a Territory Manager to be a selling agent for Mohawk Industries in the Ottawa/Quebec Canada area. This is an entry-level sales position that requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude. The role involves being the principal selling agent within the assigned territory to achieve the objectives established in the company’s Business Plan. Objectives will be achieved through discovering new customers and existing markets in the territory.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform sales calls, including traveling to customer facilities to share information, support, make sales presentations, calculate and quote prices, take orders, and close transactions.
  • Provide customer service to ensure resolution of issues within marketing policies.
  • Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as necessary.
  • Monitor territory performance against established objectives and guidelines, taking strategic actions to improve performance.
  • Provide product-specific customer feedback to product line managers, management, or customer service personnel to assist in achieving company objectives.
  • Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory in conjunction with the District Manager and ensure sales activities comply with policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and assist in business and product planning.
  • Develop a territory coverage plan defining the support and contact frequency needed to meet goals.
  • Perform analysis on regional opportunities and develop sales forecasts by customer and product, along with other reports as required.
What You Have
  • High school diploma required; college degree a plus.
  • 1-3 years of progressively responsible work experience or a combination of education and training providing necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s diverse business and product lines.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales concepts, including basic accounting, product development, manufacturing, distribution, and customer service.
  • Proficient with PC, email, and database systems.

  • Presenting and communicating effectively in oral, written, and interpersonal forms.
  • Managing tension or conflict professionally.
  • Persuading, marketing, and selling new ideas.
  • Analyzing statistical and financial data to develop solutions.
What Else?
  • 75% - 100% domestic travel, with potential to lift and move up to 100 lbs. Vision requirements are similar to those needed to maintain a valid driver’s license. Physical activity includes standing, reaching, climbing, and use of all major limbs.
