Primary Purpose: The Territory Manager is responsible for promoting sales of the Company’s products to customers and prospects within an assigned region and working with peers to ensure that the overall company sales objectives are met.
Essential Job Functions:
Customer Relationship Management
• Manage customers through the entire sales cycle including cold calling, prospecting, probing, needs analysis, qualifying, closing, overcoming objections, obtaining and processing orders, follow-up and other sales related activities.
• Support the company’s growth plans by developing territory knowledge on customers, competitors, and market dynamics.
• Expectation to spend approximately 80% of time in the field collaborating with customers and hunting new prospects.
• Use company ERP and CRM Systems resources to maintain an up-to-date customer database and log all sales opportunities over specified threshold.
• Partner with Marketing and R&D on new product development and product roadmap.
• Provide internal and external training as required for products, applications, and technologies.
• Attend and participate in trade shows, education days, meetings, and training sessions as required or assigned by management, occasionally including those that take place outside of normal business days and hours.
• Collaboration and partnership externally with customers, suppliers, and industry influencers.
• Collaboration and partnership internally with Account Management on all customer activity and growth strategies.
• Provide accurate territory, customer, and product forecasting through internal Sales & Operations Planning process.
• Proactive participation in business meetings with regional team to review tactical actions and issues.
• Partnering with customers and prospects in performing facility assessments and surveys and follow up with a report on recommendations for improvements

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical, sales, or business discipline or equivalent experience. Work experience should include a minimum of four (4) years in a business-to-business sales or sales support role, preferably in a related industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent sales skills and techniques, oral and written communication skills. Must be able to develop and maintain accurate and detailed product and product application knowledge. A proven willingness and ability to make sound business judgments. Exhibits a high level of integrity, mutual respect, and employee teamwork at all times. Displays a professional image. Demonstrates a strong commitment to meeting or exceeding company expectations, goals and objectives. Knowledge of computers and ERP systems. Must have strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future sales and decision making.
