Reporting to our Company's Associated Director of Sales within the Farm Animal Business Unit, the Account Manager is responsible for achieving the annual sales and business objectives within his/her territory by coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of the Territory Tactical Plans, ensuring alignment with Regional and National Business unit objectives. It is critical that the Account Manager demonstrates leadership ability to foster collaborative relationships to build meaningful partnerships with other internal stakeholders who have shared responsibility with channel partner organizations.
The Account Manager is responsible for understanding the customer needs and maintaining client satisfaction while ensuring consistent and accurate communication of complete product information. This is to be achieved through on-going face to face and/or virtual calls of targeted Dairy and Beef Producers with the goal of increasing sales and market penetration in the territory. This also includes conducting Continuing Education meetings, attending product and sales training, and participating in conferences and conventions.
The Account Manager identifies networks and develops strong working relationships with key customers including Key Opinion Leaders, as well as community advocacy within his/her geography. The Account Manager will complete his/her tasks in a manner fully consistent with our Company's commitment to our Values and Standards, policies, procedures, industry standards and all laws and regulations.
The Account Manager optimizes business potential in the territory through effective analysis, planning, implementation, and organization of work. The Account Manager manages territory data through Customer Relationship Management and/or other relevant territory management tools. There are other administrative duties which include weekly reports, expense reports and requests from clients.
This full-time position is targeted for Ontario, Manitoba and parts of Atlantic Canada, based in Ontario (preferably).
Key Responsibilities:
In cooperation with the Associate Director of Sales, develop and execute key strategies and tactics required to accelerate sales within assigned accounts utilizing all available resources.
Manage new and existing Livestock Monitoring product portfolios and provide on-site sales support as well as coordinate onsite technical support with the assigned strategic account organizations.
Successfully implement Key Account Management principals to include the creation and maintenance of account plans that identify threats and opportunities.
Coordinate all activities in support of account growth. This includes communicating in detail and frequently with the Associate Director of Sales, Technical Support and Customer Success teams regarding needs and activities planned to meet the needs of their territory as well as individual accounts. Gather and clearly communicate market intelligence on a regular basis to the Farm Animal Business Unit and Marketing leadership.
Develop and maintain strong executive / owner relationships within assigned accounts by presenting Livestock Monitoring product information and business solutions to account executive and mid-level leadership to support their business needs. Develop an in-depth understanding of the needs of the strategic account and communicate that information to the Farm Animal Business Unit and Marketing leadership.
Develop proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and implement contractual agreements with accountability for delivering strong financial results for the Technology department.
Candidate Prerequisites:
Bachelor’s degree or dairy specific degree
Relevant combined professional experience in sales, sales management or marketing roles in the agriculture and/or animal health industry.
Thorough understanding of the Canadian dairy and beef industries.
Strong sales and negotiation skills.
Current knowledge and demonstrated ability to work with dealers and distributors.
Demonstrated ability to build business relationships both internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement accurate Account Plans as well as Key Account Plans.
Excellent understanding of financial and business metrics.
History of sound decision-making and innovative thinking.
Ability to balance Animal Health Intelligence needs with customer needs.
Ability to work within a rapidly developing industry.
Superior organizational, analytical and time management skills.
Must be able to travel at night as required to achieve territory objectives.
Proficiency in office automation and related software.
A valid driver's license is required.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English. French an asset.
