Job description

The incumbent supports regional pharmacy teams with maintaining and monitoring the procurement and distribution of medications and provides drug information and education within the NTHSSA. This position helps guide clinical practice based on the shared vision of the NTHSSA and will foster and sustain academic partnerships to advance professional practices and develop the territorial workforce. The Territorial Specialist, Pharmacy will role-model vigilance in ensuring the highest quality of care.

Key Skills:

  1. Knowledge of Pharmacology and application of pharmaceutical care and evidence-based therapeutics for delivering pharmacy services.
  2. Knowledge of Change Management – ability to design and facilitate a change process.
  3. Team Building & Collaboration – ability to build and work with groups and teams, plan and implement change, and navigate group dynamics effectively.
  4. Conflict Resolution Skills – ability to manage and resolve conflicts within teams or organizations.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy.
  2. Experience: Ten (10) years of recent experience in a healthcare/clinical setting.
  3. Licensing Requirements: Must be eligible for registration under the NWT Pharmacy Act.
  4. Must meet the requirements for licensing as a pharmacist in the NWT.
  5. Willingness to become a member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP).
