Territorial Communicable Disease Coordinator, Public Health

Department: Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority

Job Information

Come and join a supportive, experienced and dynamic team as our Territorial Communicable Disease Coordinator. Working on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, you will be responsible for working towards decreasing the impact of communicable diseases on the regional population. You will provide and coordinate communicable disease consultative services for regional public health service programs and community health centres to ensure continuity of care within the program's assigned population as clients access public health units, primary care, community health, acute care, and long term care facilities, emergency departments, outreach settings, and/or correctional facilities within the territory, and help coordinate with the OCPHO the transition of care for services to NWT residents outside of the territory.

Qualifications

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

  1. A Baccalaureate in Nursing plus five (5) years recent experience in a clinical health care setting with four (4) years of the experience being in Public Health or Community Health.
  2. OR
  3. A Master's Degree in Nursing with 3 years of experience in a clinical health care setting, with 2 years of the experience being in Public Health or Community Health. Must be eligible for registration with CANNN.
  4. OR
  5. A Nursing Diploma with 7 years of experience in a clinical health care setting, with 6 years of the experience being in Public Health or Community Health. Must be eligible for registration with CANNN.
