About the role - DevOps Engineer (Vancouver BC)

Location :

This is a hybrid location-based role with the office located in Vancouver, British Columbia with 3 days in office / 2 days remote.

What you will be doing

This role is focused on building and maintaining a cloud data store and API for ground radar data that is used in geotechnical monitoring applications. You will help build a system for securely and reliably storing this data, while providing simple and efficient access to front end GIS applications via API

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated deployment pipelines with a primary focus on Azure DevOps.
  • Design and build out Kubernetes clusters on leading cloud platforms.
  • Manage and optimize k8s for peak performance and efficient resource utilization.
  • Be instrumental in team’s journey towards security accreditations.
  • Implement and oversee containerization technologies, with a specific focus on Docker.
  • Other additional duties as required

What you will bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer in a CI / CD toolchain.
  • Proven expertise with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Experience with Docker and docker-compose.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Navigate monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack) with ease.

Additional Desired Skills

  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with MQTT brokers such as Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, Mosquitto.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in containerized environments.
  • Experience with industrial IoT applications.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
