Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager for our Vancouver operation to lead end-to-end transportation activities and drive service excellence. The role focuses on safe, reliable, and cost-effective mobility across dispatch, drivers, owner-operators, and third-party networks.

You will balance company assets with contracted services, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely performance while collaborating with multiple internal teams to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, drayage, terminal operations, or related field.
  • Experience leading frontline transportation teams and managing drivers, owner-operators, and carrier networks.
  • Knowledge of fleet management, capacity planning, budgeting, and financial performance.
  • Experience in container transportation, drayage, intermodal, port, or marine logistics operations, including regulatory knowledge (OBCCTC, NSC, CVSE, WorkSafeBC).
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, decision making, and problem solving in fast-paced operations.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and operational reporting tools.

Hudd Transportation is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Terminal Manager to lead our Vancouver transportation operation. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the terminal, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost effective transportation services while delivering a high standard of customer service. The Terminal Manager will oversee daily operations across dispatch, company drivers, owner operators, company owned equipment, and third party transportation providers, ensuring the operation has the capacity, resources, and leadership needed to meet business and customer expectations.

As a key member of the operations leadership team, the Terminal Manager will be accountable for driving service excellence, workforce engagement, safety performance, productivity, and financial results. The successful candidate will lead a diverse transportation operation supporting containerized freight movement throughout the Lower Mainland, balancing company assets, owner operators, and purchased transportation to optimize utilization and support growth. This role requires a hands on leader who can build strong relationships with employees, contractors, customers, and internal stakeholders while creating a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The Terminal Manager will work closely with Operations, Finance, Customer Experience, Vendor Management, Commercial, and Maintenance teams to ensure business objectives are achieved and operational challenges are addressed effectively. The role will also support regulatory compliance initiatives and maintain operational readiness in support of National Safety Code requirements, OBCCTC regulations, WorkSafeBC standards, and Port of Vancouver operating requirements.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, drayage, terminal operations, or a related field, including experience leading frontline transportation teams.
  • Proven experience managing company drivers, owner operators, dispatch operations, transportation equipment, and third party carrier networks.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management, capacity planning, operational productivity, budgeting, and financial performance.
  • Experience in container transportation, drayage, intermodal, port, or marine logistics operations, including knowledge of Port of Vancouver operating requirements and applicable regulatory frameworks such as OBCCTC, NSC, CVSE, and WorkSafeBC.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, decision making, and problem solving skills with the ability to lead teams in a fast paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and operational reporting tools.
  • Post secondary education in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Business, or a related field is considered an asset.

Pay Range:

$100,000-$105,000 CAD*
