Term Instructor in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a one-year term appointment in mathematics at the rank of Instructor. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence August 1, 2025. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and in accordance with the University of Winnipeg Faculty Association Collective Agreement.

The successful candidate will be welcomed into a supportive and collegial department with a record of teaching excellence. Thedepartment has eighteen regular faculty members. Further information about the department, including descriptions of courses offered, is available at

Applicants must hold a minimum of a MSc in Mathematics and have a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.

This is a teaching position and duties will primarily include teaching mathematics courses at the pre-university, first-year and second-year levels, including math content courses for pre-service teachers, business students, and science students. The department seeks an individual who is passionate about teaching and committed to success for students with diverse backgrounds and skill levels, including those who struggle with math, while maintaining high academic standards.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues and students.

  • evidence of teaching effectiveness

The selection committee will begin reviewing applications on Monday, June 30, 2025 and will continue until the position is filled; full consideration is assured for applications received by Friday, June 27, 2025.
