The School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor in Public Management. Candidates must demonstrate expertise and a strong research/publication record, with the ability to teach in Public Management in English and French.

The University is a leading bilingual institution located in downtown Ottawa with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary starts at CAD 99,377 (May 1, 2025) and the position begins July 1, 2027.

The School of Political Studies , within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa, invites applications for one (1) tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in PUBLIC MANAGEMENT.

Candidates must demonstrate expertise, as well as a strong research and publication record, in Public Management (open area of specialization).

The Faculty of Social Sciences comprises nine departments, schools and institutes, which offer undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs in both English and French. With its 10,000 students, 260 full-time professors, and a wide array of programs and research centres, the Faculty of Social Sciences plays a key role at the heart of the University of Ottawa. Its graduate students are trained by excellent researchers and undertake cutting-edge research in the Faculty’s Master’s and Ph.D. programs.

DUTIES

• Research activities and publication
• Teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Public Management Programs
• Supervision of graduate students
• Commitment to participating in the educational and administrative activities of the units and the Faculty
• Performing any other activity provided for in the Collective Agreement

BILINGUALISM

As a bilingual institution, the University of Ottawa requires all professors in the Faculty of Social Sciences to demonstrate active bilingualism in English and French before being granted tenure. The working language of the School of Political Studies is French.

The University offers faculty members and their spouses/partners the opportunity to take courses to improve their proficiency in their second language.
