Job summary

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream Assistant Professor in Ethics and/or Social and Political Philosophy, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.

Candidates must hold a PhD by appointment and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Evidence of scholarly publications and strong teaching dossiers are required; capacity to teach Feminist Philosophy is a plus.

Qualifications

• PhD in Philosophy or closely related area by appointment, with a record of research excellence.
• Evidence of teaching excellence through dossiers, letters, and publications.
• Experience teaching Ethics and/or Social and Political Philosophy; Feminist Philosophy is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and pursue an independent, externally funded research program.
• Teach a wide range of philosophy courses at undergraduate and graduate levels across Mississauga and tri-campus settings.
• Supervise graduate students and participate in departmental service.
