Job description

Reporting to the VP of Construction, the Project Manager - Tenant Construction is the approachable “go-to person” for all tenant-related construction matters. You are known for superior communication and administrative skills, and are highly organized. You possess a positive attitude, patience, and respectfulness. Enjoying a fast-paced environment, you are not intimidated by a heavy workload, and show initiative with a solid understanding of commercial building systems and the construction process related to tenant improvements and base building alterations.

You will:

1. Coordinate the delivery of base building projects ready for tenant improvements.
2. Resolve tenant issues related to tenant improvement projects.
3. Assemble scope and specifications, tendering, financial administration, and monitor contractor performance for tenant improvements and base building projects.
4. Coordinate with subcontractors to deliver required base building or landlord-related work.
5. Review contract work, report discrepancies to the VP of Construction, and issue Purchase Orders.
6. Work with the Leasing team to develop work schedules for new lease deals.
7. Collaborate with Leasing and Property Management teams to ensure successful integration of new tenants.

You have:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Project/Construction Manager.
• Experience with tenant improvement projects, including restaurants, office fit-outs, and retail.
• A diploma or degree in a construction-related program (asset).
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building systems.
• Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Experience with CADD and Bluebeam programs.
