Raise is currently hiring a Tenable Platform Engineer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. We will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Description
The Tenable Platform Engineer in this role will be responsible for designing and implementing Tenable platforms. This role requires a strong background in API development, Python scripting, and extensive knowledge of ServiceNow, including CMDB and ServiceNow integration. Additionally, the candidate must have a solid understanding of NERC standards, compliance scans such as CIS benchmarks, and the ability to edit Tenable audit files to create compliance scans. Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting specifically for compliance scans is a must. The candidate should also have experience with SIEM tools, particularly Splunk, and the ability to work with other data lakes, such as Microsoft Defender.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Tenable platforms, ensuring they meet security requirements and standards.
  • Develop and maintain APIs for seamless integration between Tenable platforms and other systems.
  • Integrate Tenable platforms with ServiceNow, leveraging CMDB and other modules to streamline processes.
  • Conduct compliance scans using CIS benchmarks and edit audit files for custom scans.
  • Utilize Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting to automate and enhance platform capabilities.
  • Implement and manage SIEM tools, especially Splunk, for security monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT, and development teams for project success.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to platforms, APIs, and integrations.
  • Create and maintain documentation for designs, configurations, and integrations.
  • Stay updated with cybersecurity trends and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience with security platforms, focusing on Tenable solutions.
  • Experience with scripting languages, network security, and ITIL processes.
  • Extensive experience with Tenable Platform.
  • Proficiency in API development and integration.
  • Strong Python scripting skills.
  • Technical knowledge of ServiceNow, including CMDB and integrations.
  • Experience with compliance scans and editing audit files.
  • Understanding of NERC standards.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting for compliance scans.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, especially Splunk.
  • Ability to work with data lakes like Microsoft Defender.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management.
Education and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Tenable Certified Engineer, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (nice to have).
Soft Skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
