Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking responsible Traffic Control Persons for on-site assignments in Canada. The role requires sign-off on provincial requirements and certification compliance, with daily pre-checks of equipment and safety adherence in the field.

Responsibilities include coordinating with crew and customers to assess traffic control needs, and stepping in as the Traffic Control Person during breaks while maintaining safety policies and routine inspections of temporary workplaces.

Qualifications

• Provincial Traffic Control Person Certification.
• Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer Certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Steel-toe boots.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring temporary workplace are signed in accordance with provincial requirements.
• Ensuring all equipment required for the day is loaded on the truck prior to departing.
• Interacting with customers in the field to understand scope of work and level of traffic control required.
• Ensuring Traffic Control Persons are following all safety policies in the field.
• Acting as a Traffic Control Person while crew members are on breaks/lunches.
• Performing routine inspections of temporary workplaces.

Nova Scotia Traffic Control Person Certificate (preferred)

Nova Scotia Temporary Workplace Signer Certificate (preferred)

Nova Scotia Class 5 Drivers license (preferred)
