Position Overview: Please Note: This posting will remain open until filled. The City of Saint John is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Technical Services Junior Engineer with the Growth & Community Services department. The successful candidate’s objective is to support public health and safety within the City of Saint John by ensuring all buildings, structures, and properties are planned, constructed and maintained in accordance with all regulated requirements.

The successful candidate will promote voluntary compliance of municipal by-laws to ensure regulatory requirements are met by all stakeholders. He/she will administer, enforce and ensure the integrity and relevance of current municipal by-laws.

Minimum Requirements: Incumbents must have an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from a recognized university. The incumbent will have obtained a professional engineering designation or is working toward achieving designation. Practical knowledge and experience in the area of codes and by-laws would be an asset.

The successful applicant may be eligible to participate in a Flexible Time Options Program which includes the option of working a 4 or 5-day work week, subject to business requirements.
