Our Individuals at the Sandpiper Group Home, located in Northwest Calgary, are seeking a Community Support Worker. The role involves supporting Individuals with diagnoses such as Autism and Developmental Delays, who may exhibit physical behaviors of concern. A behavioral support plan will be provided to help achieve their goals. Responsibilities include supporting with hygiene routines, meal prep, g-tube feedings, house chores, grocery shopping, and medication administration. The role also requires driving throughout Calgary to attend medical appointments, sports activities like swimming, etc. Candidates should be comfortable working with autism and developmental delays.

About you:
You are compassionate, attentive, and passionate about working with people with disabilities. You are comfortable providing personal care, engaging in social and recreational activities, advocating, and encouraging healthy lifestyles and social interactions. You have good knowledge of community events and activities that benefit the Individuals. You are professional, responsible, and willing to follow agency policies and procedures. You are solution-oriented, able to identify support needs, and committed to understanding and acting in the best interest of the Individuals while maintaining professional boundaries. Previous experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred, along with the ability to research, develop, and implement supportive programs. You can manage administrative tasks effectively to build rapport.
This Temporary position is for 24 hours per week and ends in January 2026. The schedule is Wednesday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. The role suits someone with an adaptable personality, as tasks vary throughout the day. The starting pay rate is $21.19/hour, with potential increases after an annual review. After three months, you will be eligible for health and dental benefits and 5 flex days. Mileage reimbursement is $0.50/km for driving.
