Job description

At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating an amazing in-store experience for our customers and employees.

We’re seeking a Temporary Store Manager to lead the store in achieving sales targets, recruiting, development, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, committed to developing talent and delivering excellent customer service. Essentially, you’ll be a superhero for our store!

What You'll Do
  • Achieve sales plans and comparable sales goals.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a passionate, collaborative team.
  • Create engagement through social media, store web applications, and clienteling.
  • Lead operational excellence, balancing organization, delegation, and customer-first practices.
  • Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll, scheduling, and external influences.
  • Communicate with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback.
  • Analyze sales reports to inform strategy.
  • Utilize technology, communicate policies, and manage supply spending effectively.
  • Merchandise the store compellingly, launching promotions on time.
  • Mentor and recognize staff to build a talented team.
What You'll Need
  • 1-2 years of retail management experience leading successful teams.
  • High school diploma or GED; a degree is a plus.
  • Adaptability to the fast-changing retail environment.
  • Interest in pop culture and music trends.
