Job summary

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools in Grande Prairie, AB, seeks an Educational Assistant to support students and collaborate with the school planning team on programs and materials. The ideal candidate will build rapport with diverse learners, apply behavior management techniques, and communicate effectively with staff.

A Educational Assistant certificate or diploma is preferred; experience with children with special needs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant certificate or diploma preferred.
• Willing to assist students with feeding, toileting and personal hygiene.
• Experience working with children with special needs in organized settings.
• Other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and meet with the school planning team for programs and materials.
• Provide feedback to the supervisory Teacher on observations of students.
• Assist with large group activities and work with small groups or individual students.
