TEMPORARY SKILLED LABOURER - PUBLIC WORKS (4 Positions)

Public Works Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor

Maximum 6 months; Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform manual labour duties such as working on the concrete crew, assisting with sewer maintenance, repairing manholes and catch basins, clearing debris, applying cold patch, operating waste collection vehicles, and performing winter control maintenance.
  2. Set up traffic control measures, fix or replace traffic signs.
  3. Assist mechanics, maintain equipment, perform sewer inspections, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Essential: Ability to work in all weather conditions, Class DZ Ontario Driver’s License, willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR, attendance at orientation, minimum Grade 10 education, experience with heavy equipment (preferred), training with MTO Book 7, knowledge of OHSA legislation.

Working Conditions: Exposure to all weather, dirty conditions, heavy lifting, shift work, and overtime as needed.
