Job description

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

BONANZA SCHOOL is seeking a TEMPORARY FULL TIME SCHOOL PRINCIPAL for the 2025-2026 school year.

Bonanza School is located within the Municipal District of Saddle Hills, Alberta, approximately 161 kms northwest of the city of Grande Prairie. The school has a student population of approximately 64 students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.

We are seeking an educational leader who is committed to student learning, equity and wellness and who possesses the skills and work ethic to engage students, staff, parents and the community in the development of a research-driven, student-centered learning environment. We are seeking a leader who is truly committed to ongoing professional learning and is adept at supporting all staff in their own professional growth.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Current Alberta Teachers Certificate
  • You aspire for excellence in all competencies of the Teaching Quality Standard and Leadership Quality Standard
  • You are committed to a research-driven professional practice and are able to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Your willingness to participate in extracurricular activities is an asset
