Job summary

The County of Elgin invites applications for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join Elgin Manor, a 90‑bed long‑term care facility in Southwold, Ontario.

As part of the nursing team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care, under RN supervision, delivering compassionate, high‑quality care.

This temporary regular part‑time role offers hourly pay of $35.95–$36.35 with a $1/hour adjustment, OMERS pension enrollment, and related benefits.

Qualifications

• RPN education required and current CNO registration in good standing.
• Evidence of pharmacology and aseptic technique preparation.
• Current First Aid with CPR/HCP or BLS certification.
• Demonstrates commitment to safe, compassionate resident care.

Elgin Manor is a 90-bed long-term care facility situated in the Township of Southwold, just a few minutes outside of St. Thomas, Ontario. Each home area is equipped with recreation rooms, sitting areas, and television lounges to enhance programming, socialization, and visits from family and friends. Elgin Manor also features multiple outdoor garden patio areas and walkways in a tranquil rural setting, right in the heart of beautiful Elgin County.

About the Role:

As a member of the nursing team, and in consultation with the Registered Nurse, you are involved in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care. You will use your clinical skills to ensure that every resident receives the care they need and deserve delivered with quality, compassion, and consistency.

Qualifications:

• Registered Practical Nurse education
• Provides evidence of Pharmacology and Aseptic Technique preparation
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR Level HCP or BLS Certification
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with:
  • Health & Safety Procedures
  • Resident Bill of Rights
  • Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021
  • Point Click Care
• Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents.
