Job summary

Umbrella Family is seeking a Temporary RECE Full Day Educator in Ontario to support children and families through safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning experiences.

You will plan, implement, and document play-based activities, supervise daily routines, and collaborate with a passionate team to foster belonging and well-being for children from infants to preschoolers.

Qualifications

• ECE diploma and active registration with the College of ECE.
• Experience planning full-day programs for infants to preschoolers.
• Knowledge of inclusive, play-based learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and document developmentally appropriate activities that promote children's development in line with How Does Learning Happen?
• Ensure health, safety, supervision, and well-being of children at all times per CCEYA and Umbrella policies
• Create an engaging, inclusive learning environment that supports belonging and positive relationships with children and families
• Collaborate with team to support routines, positive behaviour guidance, and smooth program operations.

Total Hours per Week: 37.5

Schedule: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $28.00per hour

About the Role

As an RECE Full Day Educator at Umbrella Family Centres, you will play an important role in supporting children and families each day by creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Working alongside a collaborative team, you will plan, implement, and document engaging, play-based learning experiences that reflect children’s interests and developmental needs. You will support daily routines and well-being, actively supervise indoor and outdoor activities, and build positive relationships through open communication with families and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Diploma inEarly Childhood Education (ECE)
• Good standing with theCollege of ECE

Skills & Knowledge:

• Demonstrated ability to guide, support, and build positive relationships with children requiring behavioural guidance, using responsive and inclusive strategies.
• Strong knowledge and application of How Does Learning Happen? to foster environments that support belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression.
• Proven experience in planning, implementing, and documenting developmentally appropriate full-day programs for infant, toddler and preschool-aged children
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and engage families in their child’s learning.

Certifications:

• Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

• Ensure the health, safety, supervision, and overall well-being of children at all times, following CCEYA requirements and Umbrella policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain an engaging, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment that supports exploration, belonging, and positive relationships with children and their families.
• Collaborate with team members to support consistent daily routines, positive behaviour guidance, and smooth program operations.
