Join the County of Elgin as a Temporary Part-Time Weekend Personal Support Worker position at Terrace Lodge!

Position Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Type: Temporary Part-time, this posting is for a 6-month contract

Compensation: $30.87 – $31.30/hour as per collective agreement

Hours: Weekend shifts only; 8-hour shifts (days, afternoons and night shifts) scheduled between Fridays at 10pm and Mondays at 6am. There is no guarantee on the number of hours.

About The Role

As a certified Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our residents’ daily lives. You’ll be joining a dedicated care team that works collaboratively to support dignity, safety, and overall well-being through established job routines.

Responsibilities
  • Providing personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and transfers
  • Assisting with meals and nutrition support
  • Tidying resident rooms and common areas
  • Performing minor treatments and reporting health observations
  • Responding to call bells with attentiveness and empathy
  • Participating in care planning through daily reports and documentation
  • Supporting inclusive, respectful, and equitable care delivery
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate program from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Must be willing to further training/education of the Personal Support Worker field through in-services, etc.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Health & Safety Procedures
    • Resident Bill of Rights
    • Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021
    • Point Click Care
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents.

Conditions Of Employment
