We are seeking a temporary part-time (0.25FTE) Music teacher. This contract will commence on August 25, 2025 and end on June 26, 2026.

We Are Seeking a Teacher Who Has

• Educational training and experience teaching the Alberta curricula;
• Experience teaching Elementary Music and an ability to incorporate a variety of musical instruments into classroom instruction (eg. Recorder, Ukulele, Orff Percussion etc.).
• Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team; utilizing structures and strategies of Collaborative Response;
• A commitment to building relationships with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming learning environment;
• A strong belief in parent involvement and subsequent regular communication with home;
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills;
• An in depth knowledge of, and experience with current outcomes based assessment practices, and an ability to develop multiple forms of assessments including portfolios and projects, in addition to traditional assessments within a music learning environment;
• Experience and/or a commitment to include musical place-based learning opportunities for students in the classroom and within the community;
• An ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioural, and social/emotional needs within a Music classroom setting;
• Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for the same.
  
  

Salary Will Be Commensurate With Qualifications And Experience.
