Temporary Machine Operator Evenings - North York, ON

We are currently seeking a qualified machine operator for our North York location at 774 Supertest Rd. This position is for the evening shift, Monday to Thursday, from 3:00 pm to 2:00 am (10-hour shift), for approximately 3 to 6 months.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up machine control panel at the beginning of each shift.
  • Check parts for tolerances using a caliper, based on specifications.
  • Record tolerances every two hours on the Quality Assurance Report.
  • Stop the machine and make adjustments if tolerances are out of specifications.
  • Lift material onto the machine, one bar at a time, with lengths between 12' and 16'.
  • Empty the chip bin when full.
  • Transport drums of parts to the shipping area using a drum dolly when full or upon job completion. Refer to print for quantity.
  • Before shipping, prepare the shipping label with Catalog #, Part #, Shop Order #, and Revision # from the print, and place it inside the drum.
  • Move material from shipping to the machine using a buggy.
  • Clean chips from the machine compartment by stepping onto the platform and removing safety covers.
  • Maintain cleanliness around the machine.
  • Lifting requirements include:
    • Waist to shoulder - continuously during production.
    • Reaching overhead to lift 2-3 bars above shoulder every 5 minutes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum high school education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
  • Adherence to all safety protocols.
