Job summary

Backwoods Security Services is seeking experienced Temporary Industrial Turnaround Security Guards to support multiple projects across Alberta. These roles require guards with industrial security experience, a valid Alberta Security license, and a CSTS/First Aid CPR certification.

This is a rotating 12‑hour shift role with opportunities for ongoing assignments and competitive wages. Successful candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to various site locations; outdoor

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Security Services License is required.
• Minimum one year of industrial security experience.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean license history.
• CSTS certification is required.
• Standard First Aid with CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to sites.
• Ability to work rotating 12‑hour day and night shifts.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Strong communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
• Professional attitude, dependability and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure site during turnaround projects.
• Control access by verifying workers, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor surveillance and report unusual activity.
• Enforce site security policies and safety rules.
• Inspect vehicles and manage traffic as needed.
• Complete required incident and field reports.
• Respond to emergencies and alarms appropriately.
• Inspect company equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Communicate professionally with clients and teammates.
• Attend orientations and arrive on time for shifts.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Participate in client/site orientations.
