Job description

Applications are requested for a Temporary Full-time Receptionist at Northern Gateway Public Schools Division Office in Whitecourt, Alberta. This is a 6 week temporary leave coverage.

The receptionist is the first point of contact for NGPS Division Office. This is an ambassadorial role. The receptionist exemplifies those qualities contained in the NGPS Vision, Mission and Mandate.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Various reception and general office duties as assigned;
  • Preparing and distributing of Division office mail;
  • Reordering and purchasing office supplies;
  • Managing the front office area, foyer and kitchen area to the identified standard;
  • Assisting with boardroom/small meeting functions and
  • Performing support tasks for other members of the Division Office team.

Requirements For This Position Include

  • Experience in receptionist duties and/or as a secretary including completion of Grade 12 and an administration, business and/or computing program or courses;
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures;
  • Strong computer, organizational and interpersonal skills, with considerable knowledge of word processor and computer applications;
  • Skills in organizing the work and completing assigned tasks within specified timelines;
  • Knowledge and operation of all relevant office equipment and
  • the Ability and willingness to assume increasing responsibility in a dynamic work environment.

Annual Salary

  • $37,208.04 to $46,822.32 depending on qualifications and experience.

Start Date

  • September 15, 2025 – October 24, 2025
