Job description

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

Peace Wapiti Public School Division is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment. We invite applications for Temporary Full Time Outreach Team Members - 2 positions available.

These positions are 35 hours/week (1,400 hours per school year), roughly following the school year calendar with a fixed term that expires June 24, 2026.

Requirement

  • A degree in Social Work (with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization) or equivalent in the field of Human Services Education (Bachelor level) and experience will be considered
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (RSW) or the College of Alberta Psychologists
  • A valid Driver's License and competency in driving in remote areas
  • Experience with youth and family counselling
  • Experience working within a school system is an asset
  • Competency in risk assessment, service implementation, collaboration and time management
  • Desirable attributes include flexibility, ability to participate in a team setting, strong conflict resolution and effective communication skills

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $58,489.40 to $75,197.40 annually (september to June) or $41.78 to $53.71 per hour (based on a total working hours of 1,400 per school year). The annual salary is paid over 10 months (September to June) and will be prorated for part-time/part-year assignments.
