TEMPORARY FULL-TIME ACCOUNTS CLERK COMPETITION NO. : AIR-2025-01 (Maternity Leave Replacement for approximately 18 months beginning August 2025)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Airport Manager provide receptionist duties, clerical support and administrative assistance to both the Airport Manager and the Operations Manager.

Duties

  • Answer telephone inquiries and direct appropriately.
  • Type general office correspondence, reports and maintenance of company records (Laserfiche and filing).
  • Prepare and maintain accounts payable / receivable, purchase orders, invoices, collections, deposits, cheque requisition preparation and aged receivable and month-end reporting.
  • Review general ledger, financial statements, reconciliation and variances.
  • Set up and maintain files and regulatory documents (Airport Operations Manual, Emergency Response, Canada Flight Supplement, Canada Air Pilot, and Aeronautical Information Publications, Safety Management System Manual, Emergency Response Manual, etc,).
  • Prepare and maintain control inventories (office supplies, equipment, vehicles, tools and property).
  • Act as the Department timekeeper.
  • Perform Aeronautical and Tenant billing.
  • Participate in and support the City’s Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), by identifying opportunities for improvements in City processes with the aim of making processes as efficient as possible.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade twelve plus a two-year Community College Diploma in Office Administration or Business Administration.
  • Two years previous experience working in a general office setting.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience organizing and taking minutes of meetings.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting software (ALFA) an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current WHMIS Certificate an asset.
  • Bilingualism an asset.
  • Current and clear Criminal Record Check.
