Myrtle Philip Community School in District No. 48 (Sea to Sky) invites applications for a temporary Education Assistant – Supervision role. Immediate start through June 30, 2026, or return of incumbent, with 4.7 hours daily (EA) and 1.0 hour daily (Supervision). Rate: $33.69/hr (EA) and $31.49/hr (Supervision).
The successful candidate will support students with diverse needs under the supervision of school staff and meet program objectives. Criminal records check required.
The following temporary position is open for applications:
Immediately to June 30, 2026, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first
4 .7 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant)
1.0 hour per day, for all days school is in session for students (Supervision) Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant) $31.49/hour (Supervision)
Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.
This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.
Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
