Job summary

Women In Need Society (WINS) is seeking a Temporary Sort Associate to join our Donation Centre team in Calgary. This role focuses on sorting, grading, and storing donated goods, while supporting the More Store by WINS and Twice New e-commerce.

You will work about 32 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays, and help divert material from landfill through recycling and proper sorting. The position runs until December 12, 2026 and reports to the Manager - Sort.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to legally work in Canada.
• Solid organization skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication in English, both written and spoken.
• Basic numeracy to keep counts and operate POS equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sort and grade donations to determine quality and disposition (thrift, e-commerce, recycle, or disposal).
• Refine goods into categories and load into bins for storage.
• Support More Store by WINS and Twice New e-commerce with available products.
• Provide friendly, professional service to donors and customers.
• Maintain donor, employee, and volunteer relations with positive interactions.
• Adhere to health, safety, and site policies; maintain clean work areas.
