Are you a detail-oriented data sleuth with a passion for uncovering insights in complex datasets? Our client—an established heavy equipment organization—is seeking a Temporary Data Analyst to support a 6-month project focused on data cleanup, organization, and validation across legacy and operational systems. This role is fully remote and ideal for someone who excels in Excel, can spot anomalies in large datasets, and enjoys problem-solving through investigation and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and analyze large datasets (10,000–20,000+ rows) for completeness and accuracy.
- Use Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, filters, basic macros) to match and merge data from multiple sources.
- Identify inconsistencies, missing fields, and incorrect entries; escalate findings when needed.
- Help define standards for complete and accurate records to guide ongoing data improvements.
- Collaborate with remote team members and participate in periodic check-ins.
- Occasionally make phone calls to customers or internal reps for clarification.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Excel-based data analysis and cleanup.
- Strong pattern recognition and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Excellent communication skills; able to summarize and present findings clearly.
- Bilingual in English and French preferred an asset.
- Must have own computer with Excel (desktop version) and reliable internet connection.
- Experience with customer data, service records, or equipment databases is an asset.
