Temporary Admin Assistant

Date: Apr 23, 2025

Location: Edmonton, AB, CA, T5L 3H3

The Admin Assistant will report to and support the local department manager. Responsibilities include data entry into tracking systems and plant spreadsheets, providing commodity and non-commodity accounting support, and supporting other local plant administrative processes, including plant metrics administration.

This is a 12-month contract position.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the department manager with tasks related to plant activity, including daily production reporting, inventories, Daily Production Wire, monthly KPR reporting, monthly scorecard, downtime reporting, data entry, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor the accuracy of purchase orders and OPEX expense coding.
  • Support Procurement/Maintenance by tracking invoices.
  • Handle commodity accounting tasks such as check runs, EFT clearings, monitoring payments, and related duties.
  • Organize filing and documents as required.
  • Perform month-end reporting tasks for administration and the commercial group.
  • Provide office support through cross-training and vacation coverage.
  • Assist with internal/external audits by providing necessary information.
  • Complete miscellaneous report requirements and respond to ad hoc information requests.
  • Assist in coordinating off-site training, supplies, and travel arrangements.
  • Support special projects as needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Experience or exposure to agribusiness activities and related transactions is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise business applications such as SAP or GTM is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Business Warehouse or comparable commodity or ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with end-user tools like MS Excel and Word is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and analytical skills are required.
