Job Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, this position will provide accounting services through GAAP Standards and Government Regulations to all schools and user departments within the Board. This position will train and mentor staff with computerized accounting software, as well as be responsible for vendor management, maintaining spreadsheets, journal entries, reconciliations and preparation for year end reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute invoices and ensure proper documentation is attached.
- Prepare cash receipts journal ensuring accurate budget allocation.
- Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines in the computerized financial system.
- Responsible for completing monthly and annual account reconciliations for the Board.
- Analyze, verify and process master statements with individual charges to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum two-year college diploma in Accounting, or equivalent education.
- Minimum one-year of professional experience in a related environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting operations and financial records management.
- Excellent computer skills utilizing databases and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with various parties such as vendors.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.
