Qualifications

• Knowledge of Ministry of Education philosophy, teaching practices, and assessment procedures.
• Strong academic training and qualifications in teaching Math and Science.
• Ability to design and assess inquiry/project-based learning with inclusive planning (UDL).
• Experience teaching Math & Science with First Peoples principles.
• Ability to teach in a multi-graded, flexible learning environment with immersive approaches.
• Ability to teach all streams of math in project-based, experiential ways.
• Promote authentic learning connecting to student interests and abilities.
• Collaborative design of assessments around authentic demonstrations and artifacts.
• Support students to curate and showcase learning through digital portfolios.
• Willingness to work with community partners (artists-in-residence).
• Understanding and commitment to First Peoples Principles of Learning.
• Commitment to four pillars of integrated arts & technology in practice.
• Excellent classroom management and relationships.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Grade 9-12 Math & Science instruction and assessments.
• Design inquiry/project-based learning aligned with standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community partners on authentic opportunities.
• Incorporate First Peoples Principles of Learning into curriculum.
• Apply inclusive planning and UDL to support diverse learners.
• Support students in curating work and displaying learning artifacts.
