Position Description
A temporary full time (1.0) Secondary Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective immediately until the return of the incumbent but not beyond June 30, 2025. The assignment will be at the Key Learning Centre.
This position will focus on supporting students with the Distance/Online Learning context. Duties will include advising enrollment consistent within Graduation 2023 guidelines, at home course support, student tutorial, as well as tracking and reporting student progress.
The Key Learning Centre (KLC) is a Provincial Online Learning School (POLS) providing online learning to students within School District No. 60 and throughout the province of British Columbia.. As an alternative to traditional 'brick & mortar' schools we offer asynchronous, flexibly scheduled educational programming via an online delivery model.
The KLC has a staffing complement of nine teachers, nine support staff (clerical, EA, LAT, tech support) and administration. The staff is very innovative and takes full advantage of technologies to bridge distances and create an effective, vibrant social learning environment.
