Job summary

Worldwide is seeking a field telecom technician to diagnose and locate equipment faults, and to adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment across multiple sites in the Metro Vancouver region. Travel is a regular part of the role, with on-site assignments at varying locations.

The ideal candidate has 1 year to less than 2 years of experience and a college certificate or diploma for 1–2 years, or equivalent experience, along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
• College certificate or diploma in a related field (1–2 years) or equivalent experience.
• Must be willing to travel regularly to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment
• Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software
• Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
• Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
• Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
