The role will be based out of our Toronto office, with the potential for flexible work from home, and some presence in our client’s office in downtown Toronto. As Jacob’s Technical Advisory Services department continues to grow, future opportunities on linear infrastructure projects such as highways and rail may become available.

  • Identify risks and issues, provide strategic advice in project implementation.

  • Lead and coordinate activities and deliverables in the design and construction phase, leading to project completion.

  • Monitor project design execution and progress, staff resource, schedule, scope, and budget.

  • Provide consistency and efficiencies in project delivery including scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements stated in the contract.

  • Serve as a leader and mentor to junior staff by providing direction and answering questions and concerns.

  • Lead and coordinate the development of procurement documents, including technical requirements or specifications.

  • Develop relationships and help to identify new and upcoming opportunities.

  • Work with the sales team in client strategy, production and pricing of proposals.

  • Work across multiple asset classes, including but not limited to broadband, energy, transportation, or social infrastructure etc.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or business administration with substantial related career experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in design, procurement, and/or construction oversight of major capital projects in Ontario.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience preparing presentations, briefing material, memos, and technical reports.

  • Experience with working with stakeholders and clients including but not limited to internet service providers, utilities, municipalities, Provincial/Municipal/Federal government departments/ministries or crown corporations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario

  • Experience with Preliminary/Reference Concept Design and/or Detail Design assignments.
