YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the IT Supervisor, you will be part of the IT Department. The Telecommunications Technician ensures that the communications needs, goals, and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Repair, install, configure, and maintain telecommunication installations which may include:
    • Motorola MotoTRBO System (Repeaters, Mobile and Portable Radios, VHF)
    • Antenna Systems (Filters, Leaky Feeder)
    • WiFi Systems (Data, Telemetry, Point to Point, Point to Multi Point, and TeleOperation)
    • Radio over Fiber Optic
    • Systems Management: Motorola Radio Manager, Becker Varis SmartCom
    • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon or RFID systems
    • Microwave and LTE systems
    • GPS, GNSS
  • Help with other means of communication for Surface and Underground communication
  • Provide technical support to internal clients
  • Maintain diagrams and systems documentation
  • Ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide great customer service.
  • Taking ownership of all communications related issues.
  • Ability to work in a high stress, dynamic, and demanding environment as an effective team member, and leader
  • Ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide outstanding service delivery, customer focus, and quality control

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Those individuals wishing to apply for this position must have a community college program at least 2 years in length or equivalent to:
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Telecommunications
    • Wireless Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency Systems and test equipment (spectrum analyzer, filtration devices, modulation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Leaky Feeder Systems and testing/verification methods
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the telecommunications field , or relevant experience
  • Must show the ability to work independently, and have initiative to seek out and resolve challenges, and to reach out for aid from the team as needed.
  • Office software knowledge: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Written and verbal skills in English

  • Schedule: 4/3 schedule and transitioning to 7/7 day shift only schedule at our Macassa Mine Site in Kirkland Lake, ON .
