YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the IT Supervisor, you will be part of the IT Department. The Telecommunications Technician ensures that communication needs, goals, and objectives are met while promoting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards. You will also ensure that these goals are achieved while respecting our values and safety practices.

  • Repair, install, configure, and maintain telecommunication systems including:
  • Motorola MotoTRBO System (Repeaters, Mobile and Portable Radios, VHF)
  • Antenna Systems (Filters, Leaky Feeder)
  • WiFi Systems (Data, Telemetry, Point to Point, Multi Point, TeleOperation)
  • Radio over Fiber Optic
  • Systems Management: Motorola Radio Manager, Becker Varis SmartCom
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon or RFID systems
  • Microwave and LTE systems
  • GPS, GNSS
  • Assist with other communication methods for Surface and Underground communication
  • Provide technical support to internal clients
  • Maintain diagrams and system documentation
  • Coordinate at multiple levels and deliver excellent customer service
  • Take ownership of communication-related issues
  • Work effectively in high-stress, dynamic environments as a team member and leader
  • Coordinate at multiple levels, ensuring outstanding service, customer focus, and quality
  • Drive continuous learning and improvement
  • Work at heights comfortably

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Completed a community college program of at least 2 years or equivalent in:
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Telecommunications
  • Wireless Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency Systems and test equipment (spectrum analyzers, filters, modulation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Leaky Feeder Systems and testing methods
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in telecommunications or related fields
  • Ability to work independently, proactively resolve challenges, and seek team assistance as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 4/3 rotation transitioning to 7/7 day shifts at the Macassa Mine Site in Kirkland Lake, ON.
