Job Overview

Lake of the Woods Electric is looking for a skilled Telecom Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves working on residential, commercial, industrial, and government electrical projects to ensure safe and efficient power distribution. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and possess the 434A certification. We are willing to train the right person in our company's specific processes while offering a supportive and flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Operate bucket trucks, cable trailers and pullers, diggers, and other specialized power line equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement safe and effective solutions.
  • Follow OSHA, safety, and industry regulations to ensure job site compliance.
  • Communicate with clients and project managers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Travel for out-of-town projects with per diem provided.
  • Cable Lashing and Down Guide Line Installation
  • Outside plant aerial construction / Maintenance Work
  • Gaffing and extension ladder usage.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role or industry (aerial, buried, and outdoor rated electrical work)
  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards, OSHA regulations, fall protection, and lift operations.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in operating bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and diggers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license (company vehicle provided or mileage reimbursement available).
  • DZ / AZ drivers license is an asset or willingness to obtain one
