Job summary

GreenTech Resources Worldwide Canada is seeking Telecommunications Equipment Installation and Cable Television Service Technicians in Fort Nelson, Northern British Columbia. This full-time role requires 1–3 years of work experience and involves installing, testing, and maintaining telephone equipment, wiring, and related hardware, as well as repairing faults.

You will test systems, configure networks, interpret schematics, and communicate with customers under pressure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Postsecondary education program in telecommunications, telecommunications technology, computer science, or a related field.
• Proven experience working as a telecommunications technician.

Responsibilities

• Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware.
• Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults.
• Repair or replace defective and damaged telephones, wire and associated equipment.
• Install electromechanical, analog and digital trunking systems, circuits and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centres.
• Inspect and test trunking systems, circuits and equipment.
• Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software.
• Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment.
• Complete test reports and maintain test and service records.
