Your Focus
Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Nursing, the Technology Systems Coordinator and SIM Lab Technician is responsible for managing information technology systems, coordinating and providing IT specialist services including repair, managing simulation lab activities, maintaining virtual reality equipment, and offering audio-visual support specifically tailored for classroom environment.

• Provide expertise on the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative teaching technologies for both in-person and virtual environments, supporting faculty and students.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop and facilitate simulations, advise on curricular design, delivery, and programming equipment as required.
• Prepare lab and other related spaces for courses, workshops, or site visits, ensuring seamless educational activities.
• Operate audio-visual (A/V) equipment during live streaming and simulation activities.
• Design and prepare realistic simulations of wounds, bodily fluids, and other injuries or ailments for mannequins.
• Manage daily use of the Simulation Lab, including maintaining supplies, equipment, managing bookings, and enforcing regulations.
• Assemble, operate, program, and update high-fidelity simulators, mannequins, and other medical equipment.
• Source and purchase equipment as needed, ensuring timely delivery.
• Coordinate and deliver lab orientations and in-service training for students and faculty.
• Produce multimedia content for simulations and courseware.
• Oversee hiring, scheduling, and time sheet submissions for students.
• Coordinate VR headset use and maintenance, managing distribution and damages.
• Coordinate laundering of linens and replacement of sharps containers.
• Troubleshoot printers, photocopiers, and technical issues.
• Liaise with IT Services for support.
• Provide classroom and remote support.
• Develop and maintain a Learning Technologies database.
• Assist faculty and staff with technology use.
• Prepare and submit funding applications for the Simulation Lab.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring
