Job Description Summary

The Technology Research Analyst Co-op Student will be working with technology specialists and business specialists to contribute to various initiatives that are within the scope of NAV CANADA’s Research and Development Centre. The work will include researching and evaluating technologies, and documenting results to contribute to organizational knowledge.

As the Technology Research Analyst Co-op student, you will be working with technology specialists and business specialists to contribute to various initiatives that are within the scope of NAV CANADA’s Research and Development Centre. This could include research into the application of new technologies, business analysis and design, and enhancing the practice of research at NAV CANADA.

This role involves :

  • Researching, analyzing and evaluating the potential impacts and benefits of new technologies and processes.
  • Performing market research and evaluation of commercial-off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Understanding and documenting business needs and contributing to the design of future business processes and solutions.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to collect feedback and gain insights that help guide the direction of research and development.
  • Documenting findings and developing guidance material.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) (presentation skills and writing documentation).
  • Great organizational skills, be details-oriented, and dependable.
  • Motivation to learn, explore new technologies, conduct market research and gain valuable experience.
  • Must be a team player.

Programs and Level:

  • Graduate student working towards a degree in Innovation, Engineering, Digital Transformation, Data Science, or similar technical or business discipline.

Work Environment:

  • The work is performed during weekdays in a hybrid office environment in Ottawa.
  • A minimum of 3 days per week at the office is required.
  • The work term is 8 months: from Sep 2025 to May 2026.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to gather and document information from multiple sources, conduct analyses, and generate actionable insights.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, research and develop options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, visually, and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience

  • Previous academic or work experience in technology implementation, business analysis or digital transformation is an asset.
  • Experience working within a team environment.

  • A minimum of 3 days per week at the office is required.
  • This position is located at 280 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON.
