Job description

About Citi

Citi, the leading global bank, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions. Citi provides consumers, corporations, governments, and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management. Our core activities are safeguarding assets, lending money, making payments, and accessing the capital markets on behalf of our clients.

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary, hands‑on, and highly analytical Technology Product Management Senior Manager to join our Banking Technology group in Mississauga, Canada. In this role, you will lead the strategic product management, system integration, and AI‑driven transformation of our core Enterprise Loan Origination & Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Deal Management platforms.

The Lending and Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Loans portfolio is undergoing a major multi‑year digital transformation. Currently, the front‑office lending process is highly fragmented, requiring bankers to navigate multiple disconnected systems and manual workarounds. This role is pivotal to driving a unified strategic transformation programme. You will act as a product‑minded technologist who thrives at the intersection of enterprise product management, capital markets, and cutting‑edge artificial intelligence, bridging the gap between complex business challenges and scalable technology solutions.

Key Pillars of the Platform Transformation
1. Strategic Deal Origination & Credit Workflow Integration
2. Regulatory Compliance and ESG Risk Mitigation
3. AI‑Powered Capital Markets & Lending Transformation
4. Cross‑Functional Leadership and Platform Governance
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Product Strategy: Partner closely with business and technology senior leaders to align product roadmaps with business priorities and regulatory commitments. Conduct deep‑dive user research, banker interviews, and workflow analyses to define a comprehensive product vision.
  • Lead End‑to‑End Product Delivery: Own and execute the product roadmap for Lending and Capital Markets initiatives. Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into prioritized, outcome‑based product backlogs in an Agile development environment.
  • Identify & Deliver AI‑Enabled Solutions: Evaluate and prioritize opportunities to apply AI, ML, and advanced data analytics across lending and pricing workflows. Ensure AI features are designed with appropriate controls, model governance, and explainability.
  • Collaborate & Communicate: Partner across front office, middle office, and operations to define requirements and prioritize delivery. Work closely with Engineering and UX Design to deploy robust, integrated solutions across strategic credit, risk, and origination platforms.
  • Prototyping & Architecture: Get hands‑on with building proofs‑of‑concept and initial prototypes to validate ideas quickly, particularly for novel AI applications in lending and capital markets tooling.
Skillset & Qualifications Required
  • Experience: 6–10 years of relevant experience in technology product management, capital markets product development, or a hybrid product‑engineering role in a global financial institution.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep, specialized knowledge of corporate lending and debt capital markets workflows, including loan origination, credit approval processes, loan syndication, covenant monitoring, servicing, and front‑office banker journeys.
  • AI & Advanced Analytics Capabilities: Practical experience identifying, designing, and delivering AI/ML‑enabled product features (e.g., NLP, predictive pricing analytics, recommendation engines, and decision‑support systems). Familiarity with AI development tools and platforms is required.
  • Large‑Scale Platform Integration: Extensive experience leading complex integration programmes across multiple legacy and modern applications, utilizing APIs, microservices, and modern data architectures.
  • Regulatory & Control Acumen: Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, compliance standards, and risk management practices (including ESG/ESRM frameworks) within financial services.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical design.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to influence, align, and collaborate with senior business, technology, risk, and operations partners globally.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
