Job summary

McKesson Technology is seeking a highly motivated Technology Operations Leader to oversee operational excellence across the Enterprise Applications portfolio. This role drives stability, reliability, and governance, building processes from the ground up and delivering measurable improvements.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, implement RCA tracking, reduce incidents, establish KPIs, and lead readiness for major releases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering/Business or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large-scale technology operations, application support, or service delivery organizations.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling operational processes, governance models, and performance management frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action and strong execution focus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational management and continuous improvement initiatives across a large Enterprise Applications portfolio.
  • Establish and mature operational processes, governance frameworks, performance metrics, and service management disciplines.
  • Partner with ITOGR to develop and implement standardized processes for incident review, RCA, corrective action tracking, and problem management across EA.
  • Analyze incident trends and operational data to identify systemic issues and drive lasting solutions for EA.
  • Partner with application, engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to improve service reliability and operational performance.
  • Drive measurable reductions in P1 and P2 incidents, MTTR, and unplanned downtime.
  • Establish executive-level operational reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and review cadences.
  • Lead operational readiness and support strategies for application implementations, upgrades, and major releases.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen the observability posture across the EA landscape.

McKesson Technology is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Technology Operations Leader to oversee operational excellence across the Enterprise Applications portfolio. This role is responsible for driving stability, reliability, continuous improvement, and operational governance across critical business applications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record of building operational processes from the ground up, identifying systemic issues, and rapidly implementing sustainable solutions that improve service quality and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead operational management and continuous improvement initiatives across a large Enterprise Applications portfolio.
  • Establish and mature operational processes, governance frameworks, performance metrics, and service management disciplines.
  • Partner with ITOGR to develop and implement standardized processes for incident review, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective action tracking, and problem management across EA
  • Analyze incident trends and operational data to identify systemic issues and drive lasting solutions for EA
  • Partner with application, engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to improve service reliability and operational performance.
  • Drive measurable reductions in P1 and P2 incidents, Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), and unplanned downtime.
  • Establish executive-level operational reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and review cadences.
  • Lead operational readiness and support strategies for application implementations, upgrades, and major releases.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen the observability (monitoring) posture across the EA landscape.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large-scale technology operations, application support, or service delivery organizations.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling operational processes, governance models, and performance management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to assess operational gaps, solve complex problems quickly, and implement repeatable solutions.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action and strong execution focus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience overseeing complex enterprise application portfolios within large multinational organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles, process improvement methodologies, and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Experience leading software development organizations or managing Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience with ITSM, incident management, problem management, change management, and service reliability disciplines.
  • Familiarity with modern application delivery, DevOps, Agile, and enterprise service management practices.

Our Base Pay Range for this position $122,100 - $162,800
