Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Lead Optimal SME in Ottawa, Ontario. The role centers on leading optical/telecom embedded systems design and architecture, emphasizing DWDM, ROADM, amplifiers, Raman, OTDR, and related technologies.

Travel in Canada may be required. Ideal candidates hold a engineering degree with substantial IT/telecom experience and will collaborate with software teams to define detailed software requirements and architectures for next-generation optical line systems.

Qualifications

• Excellent hands-on experience with operating systems, object‑oriented design, and C++.

• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders; possible Product Owner duties in Scrum.

Infosys is hiring for the Lead Optimal SME

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Ottawa, Ontario or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• Candidates authorized to work for any employer in the Canada without employer-based visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Infosys is unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this role at this time.

Required Skills :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience in the telecom/optical industry.
• Thorough understanding of optical standards related to DWDM and line systems.
• Strong experience in optical technologies and optical line systems, including DWDM, ROADM, amplifiers, Raman, OTDR, DGE, etc.
• Prior experience in the architecture and design of optical/telecom embedded systems.
• Excellent hands-on experience with operating systems, object‑oriented design, and C++.
• Ability to define detailed software requirements and system/software architecture, working closely with software architects and designers, based on high‑level product requirements for next‑generation Optical Line System.
• Highly desirable to have the ability or prior experience as a Product Owner (PO) in Scrum teams.
• Highly desirable to have a strong understanding of Agile Scrum and AI.

Estimated annual compensation range for the candidate based in the below location will be:

Ontario- $92740 to $ 123375
